My Prayer

My prayer today stems from a song that I listen to often. This song resonates with my soul and sometimes I just play it over and over. It is a song by gospel singer o VaShawn Mitchell entitled “Nobody Greater”.

Lord I just want to say thank you for all that you have done for me because there is nobody greater than you. I love my mother, I love my family, and I love my friends, but Lord none of them are greater than you. It doesn’t matter where I go I cannot find anyone greater than you. When I stand on the mountain top, Lord you are there. If I am down in the valley, Lord you are there. When I look up at the beautiful expanse of the sky, Lord you are there. When I look at the shimmering ripples of the ocean, Lord you are there, and when I look at the diverse species of plants, vegetables, and flowers, you are there. When the sun slowly sets, Lord you are there. As the moon takes over where the sun left off, Lord you are there. How can anyone be greater than you Lord? You are the master and the creator of all and there is nobody greater than you.

Lord because there is nobody greater than you, I need you now, I need you every hour, and I need you every day. Because there is nobody greater than you, I’m chasing hard after you because I need you in my life, in my spirit, and in my soul. Lord I need you because you reign now and forever.

Thank you Lord because I’m still here and I’m still standing. I thank you Lord for a home to live in, for my health, for my family, and my friends. Thank you for my place of employment. Thank you because I can laugh just as much as I can cry. Thank you for drying my tears when I cry. Thank you for giving me a shoulder to lean on and thank you for carrying me in those times when I did not have the strength to take another step.

Very simply, Lord I say thank you.

30 Days Of…Day 29 – “Nobody Greater”

Without a doubt there is nobody greater than God. A song by Vashawn Mitchell entitled “Nobody Greater” always reminds me of the greateness of God. The words to the song are powerful. In the song he says:

I climbed up to the highest mountain I looked all around, couldn’t find nobody. Went down into the deepest valley looked all around down there, couldn’t find nobody. I went across the deep blue sea couldn’t find one to compare… to your grace your love, your mercy, Nobody greater… nobody greater no… nobody greater than you. Searched all over… couldn’t find nobody. I looked high and low… still couldn’t find nobody, nobody greater… nobody greater no… nobody greater than you.

God surpasses everyone and everything. You will never be able to find anyone or anything greater than God. It doesn’t matter who they are or what they have accomplished, they will never be greater than God.

There are many names that describe who God is and all of His names show His greatness.

El Shaddi – God Almighty

El Elyon – Most High God – God is Sovereign over all – sovereign means God is in charge of the entire universe, all the time. Psalm 50:1, The Mighty One, God, the Lord, speaks and calls the earth from the rising of the sun to its setting.

Elohim – My Creator – Genesis 1:1 , In the beginning God (prepared, formed, fashioned, and) created the heavens and the earth.

El Roi – God Who Sees – Psalm 33:13-14, The Lord looks from heaven, He beholds all the sons of men; From His dwelling place He looks [intently] upon all the inhabitants of the earth—(Amplified)

Jehovah – I AM – Isaiah 42:8 – I am the Lord; that is My name! And My glory I will not give to another, nor My praise to graven images. (Amplified)

Jehovah Jireh – The LORD will provide

Jehovah Roi – The LORD is My Shepherd – Psalm 23:1, The Lord is my Shepherd [to feed, guide, and shield me], I shall not lack. (Amplified)

Jehovah Shalom – The LORD our Peace – Judges 6:23, Then the Lord said to him, “Peace be with you; do not fear, you shall not die.”  (NKJV) – If we stay in fellowship with God he will keep us in a peaceful state of mind. Isaiah 26:3 says, You will guard him and keep him in perfect and constant peace whose mind [both its inclination and its character] is stayed on You, because he commits himself to You, leans on You, and hopes confidently in You. (Amplified)

There is no one greater than God and there will never be anyone greater than God.
