“Don’t Give Up”

Job 14:1 – Amplified Bible (AMP) – Man who is born of a woman is of few days and full of trouble.

No Matter what issues, circumstances, problems, trials, tribulations, troubles you are going through you can always look to the hills because that is where your help comes from. I am experiencing the loss of a job, but I have to keep reminding myself that God has always taken care of me in the past and I know that He will continue to take care of me. Once again, I love music, so here is song that I will put in my CD in my car and repeat several times to keep looking to the hills. This is a gospel song by Marvin Sapp entitled “Keep It Movin”. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

What Are You Chasing?

Where is your focus? What is important to you? Is God on that list anywhere? He is your priority or is your career, success, pursuit of life, etc., taking first place. Are you a God chaser?

Isaiah 55:6 – Amplified Bible (AMP) – Seek, inquire for, and require the Lord while He may be found [claiming Him by necessity and by right]; call upon Him while He is near.

1 Chronicles 16:11 – Amplified Bible (AMP) – Seek the Lord and His strength; yearn for and seek His face and to be in His presence continually!

Hebrews 11:6 – Amplified Bible (AMP) – But without faith it is impossible to please and be satisfactory to Him. For whoever would come near to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists and that He is the rewarder of those who earnestly and diligently seek Him [out].

Jeremiah 29:13 – Amplified Bible (AMP) – Then you will seek Me, inquire for, and require Me [as a vital necessity] and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.

Matthew 6:33 – Amplified Bible (AMP) – But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides.

As many of you may know, I love gospel music. Listen to “God Chaser” by William Murphy

“My God Is”

God is so many things to me. He is my fortress, my provider, my protector, my friend, my peace, my strength, and my joy. No matter how hard things get, I know I can count on Him for peace of mind and strength for the journey. I don’t know what He is to you, but there are so many scriptures that describe who He is. Here are a few:

Light:
Isaiah 60:19 (Amplified Bible) – The sun shall no more be your light by day, nor for brightness shall the moon give light to you, but the Lord shall be to you an everlasting light, and your God your glory and your beauty.

Good:
Psalm 86:5 (Amplified Bible) – For You, O Lord, are good, and ready to forgive [our trespasses, sending them away, letting them go completely and forever]; and You are abundant in mercy and loving-kindness to all those who call upon You.

Holy:
Psalm 99:9 – Exalt the LORD our God, and worship at his holy hill; for the LORD our God is holy.

Gracious, Righteous, and Merciful:
Psalm 116:5 – Gracious is the LORD, and righteous; yea, our God is merciful.

Perfect:
Matthew 5:48 – Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Spirit:
John 4:24 – God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Love:
1 John 4:8 – He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

Immortal:
Romans 1:23 (Amplified Bible) – And by them the glory and majesty and excellence of the immortal God were exchanged for and represented by images, resembling mortal man and birds and beasts and reptiles.

King of Eternity, Incorruptible, and Immortal:
1 Timothy 1:17 (Amplified Bible) – Now to the King of eternity, incorruptible and immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever (to the ages of ages). Amen (so be it).

1 Timothy 6:16 (Amplified Bible) – Who alone has immortality [in the sense of exemption from every kind of death] and lives in unapproachable light, Whom no man has ever seen or can see. Unto Him be honor and everlasting power and dominion. Amen (so be it).

“The Great I Am”

TwoJackLake

Who is the great “I Am”? In Exodus 3:14 scripture tells us who the great “I Am” is; “And God said unto Moses, I Am That I Am: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I Am hath sent me unto you.”

The name “I Am” points to the self-existence and eternality of God. There is no one before Him neither shall there be anyone after Him. In John 14:6, “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” Because God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit are one, the great “I Am” is part of them all. In Ephesians 3:9 (Amplified Bible) scripture states, “ Also to enlighten all men and make plain to them what is the plan [regarding the Gentiles and providing for the salvation of all men] of the mystery kept hidden through the ages and concealed until now in [the mind of] God Who created all things by Christ Jesus.”

What does scripture say about the great “I Am”?

John 8:58 – Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

John 6:35 – And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

John 8:12 – Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

John 10:7, 9, 11, 14 –   7 Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. – 9  I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. 11  I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. – 14  I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.

John 11:25 – Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

John 15:1, 5 –  1  I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. – 5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

Revelation 1:17-18 –  17 And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: – 18  I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

Revelation 21:6 – And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

Revelation 22:13-16 – Amplified Bible (AMP)

13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last (the Before all and the End of all).

14 Blessed (happy and to be envied) are those who cleanse their garments, that they may have the authority and right to [approach] the tree of life and to enter through the gates into the city.

15 [But] without are the dogs and those who practice sorceries (magic arts) and impurity [the lewd, adulterers] and the murderers and idolaters and everyone who loves and deals in falsehood (untruth, error, deception, cheating).

16 I, Jesus, have sent My messenger (angel) to you to witness and to give you assurance of these things for the churches (assemblies). I am the Root (the Source) and the Offspring of David, the radiant and brilliant Morning Star.

THE GREAT “I AM”

Life and Death – What are you speaking?

Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they who indulge in it shall eat the fruit of it [for death or life]. Proverbs 18:21 – Amplified Bible (AMP)

Be careful what you put out in the atmosphere because it will come back to you. Think, speak, and be positive.

Here are a few phrases you can count on to keep you speaking life instead of death.

I am a child of God.

No weapon formed against me shall prosper.

The Lord is my Shepherd I shall not want.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

I am more than a conqueror.

I am a friend of God.

“We are More Than Conquerors”

No matter what life may throw at you, know that through Christ you are more than a conqueror. Romans 8:37-38 states, “As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.  Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.”

I hope you enjoy Vashawn Mitchell’s song, “Conquerors”, and know that you are and can be a conqueror.

Blessings to you all!

“I Win”

It’s been quite a while since I have posted any articles on WordPress and this is my first in 2015. However, with all the unrest going on in our nation right now, I felt it appropriate to post this gospel song by John P. Kee, entitleld “I Win”. I believe with the Lord on our side we can win any battle we encounter. It won’t be easy, but God promises He will never leave or forsake us. I choose to believe I win, because Jesus won for me on the cross.

Let us look to the hills where all our help comes from. I pray that you will enjoy this song as much as I do. I play it often when the enemy wants to try to worm its way in.

Mighty God

Isaiah 54:17 (NKJV) – “No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord.

We serve a mighty God. He is a God of love, a God of mercy, and a God of grace. Fret not thyself because of evil doers because our God is there to help us through all the ups and downs we encounter in this life.

Smokie Norful sings “Mighty God” and lets us know just how good God is. God is an awesome God.

Don’t Give Up

Life is full of struggles, obstacles, and hurdles, but never give up and never stop praising and praying. Kurt Carr and the Kurt Carr Singers sing a song entitled “Between Here and There”. This song from his new CD Bless This House, talks about what we can and should be doing between here and there in the struggles. He says prayer and praise got him from here to there. I believe prayer and praise are two very powerful defenses against the enemy who seeks to attack us in any way he can.

Awesome

God is an awesome God. He is mighty, powerful, merciful, gracious, and loving. He is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. Awesome can not adequately describe who God is. However, the song entitled “Awesome” sung by Pastor Charles Jenkins and the Fellowship Choir of Chicago, let’s us know just that God is awesome and can do anything we need Him to do. The words and melody will stay with you long after the song has ended.
